The big day has finally arrived! Since April 1, 2024, you can consume cannabis in Germany with impunity, whether for recreational or medicinal purposes. But be careful: decriminalization does not mean complete legalization. ⚠️ There is a strict set of rules that you must adhere to in order to avoid getting into trouble with the authorities.
We at the Cannabis Social Club Dortmund e.V. welcome your newfound freedom together with you. At the same time, we appeal to you to handle the plant responsibly. Now it is time to prove to society that we deserve this opportunity. This is the only way we can achieve even greater relaxation in the long term. It is up to each and every one of us to do our bit. 🙌🏼
Where can you consume cannabis from now on?
Cannabis consumption in the presence of minors under the age of 18 is an absolute taboo. Smoking is also prohibited in pedestrian zones between 7 am and 8 pm. 🚭 The same applies to playgrounds, schools, sports facilities and anywhere where children and young people usually spend time. Observe the radius of 100m from the entrance area. However, the radius does not apply if the facilities/places mentioned are not visible within the radius at your location. 📍

Be sure to respect the people around you. Not everyone likes the smell of cannabis. Unnecessary provocation only harms our cause. So use your new options responsibly and considerately so that we can create even more acceptance in the long term. ✅
The consumption of cannabis in the "prohibited zones" specified in Section 5 KCanG constitutes an administrative offense that can be punished with a fine of up to EUR 30,000 (Section 36 para. 1 no. 4, para. 2 KCanG).
How much cannabis can you legally possess?
Since April 1, 2024, you can carry up to 25 grams of cannabis with you as an adult. In your own four walls, you are even allowed 50 grams and up to 3 flowering plants. But be careful: if you hoard more than 30 grams on the road or more than 60 grams at home, you risk criminal prosecution. 👮🏻👮🏻♂️
Is the resale or passing on of cannabis to friends permitted?
No, the trade as well as the free distribution of cannabis remains prohibited, even among friends. 👎🏼 This also applies to joints that are passed on. Only home cultivation and purchase via cannabis social clubs are exempt from punishment. 👍🏼
Are you allowed to take cannabis abroad or import it from abroad?
Under no circumstances! 🙅🏻♂️ This is absolutely forbidden and will be severely punished. There may be exceptions for patients, but make sure you are well informed beforehand.
Is driving allowed after cannabis consumption?
The zero tolerance limit still applies. 🚫 However, the Ministry of Transport is to set scientifically sound limits this year. The expert commission recently proposed a limit value of 3.5 nanograms. Until then, you'd better keep your hands off the wheel! Cycling while stoned can also be considered a criminal offense and result in hefty fines or even imprisonment. 👀
What happens to cannabis during a police check?
Since April 1, 2024, nothing happens as long as you have less than 25 grams of cannabis with you in public. It's about time! 🥲
Who can you turn to if you have problems with your cannabis use?
Contact us with confidence to us or look for a counseling center, such as the drug counseling center in Dortmund in Dortmund. 🛟 You will find non-judgmental support there. The website Cannabispraevention.de of the Federal Center for Health Education offers help for those affected, relatives and multipliers.
